Benitez Happy With Win

Red’s boss Rafael Benitez was happy to see with his Liverpool side pick up their first Premiership win of the season, after they fought back from 1-0 down to beat West Ham 2-1.

‘I promise you I was not surprised to see Agger score this fantastic goal because he has a great shot on him and he does that in training,’ said the Liverpool boss.

‘I was talking to him this week and I told him if he gets a chance to have a shot because he is capable of scoring goals.

‘I thought it was a difficult game for us but we are pleased with the three points. We scored two fantastic goals but we were a bit nervous in the second half because we didn’t take our chances and kill the game off.

‘I thought we started well but then found ourselves a goal down. We showed good character to go 2-1 up but then we had some problems because we didn’t take our chances.

‘I thought Dirk Kuyt did very well and the supporters were pleased with him. He created three or four chances for himself and was unlucky not to score. He is a very intelligent player and I have a lot of confidence in him.’
