Liverpool should welcome back striker Fernando Torres after the Spanish striker missed both the Merseyside Derby and Liverpool’s midweek Champions League trip to Turkey through injury.

Xabi Alonso is also expected to return to the first team after missing the last six weeks through injury.

Daniel Agger, Fabio Aurelio and Alvaro Arbeloa are still suffering with injuries and all rated doubtful. Harry Kewell made a goalscoring return for the reserves on Thursday night at Newcastle but is unlikely to be in the squad just yet.
