Next Up: Everton (H)

After a frustratingly mistimed international break this mid-week, Liverpool return to Premier League action in what may be one of the most important Merseyside Derbys in recent years.

Both the Reds and Everton are looking to clinch the fourth Champions League qualification spot, and with Liverpool ahead in the table at the moment, victory will surely seal things up for Rafael Benitez’s men.

Liverpool will be looking to do the double over their local rivals after defeating the Toffees 2-1 at Goodison Park earlier in the season, courtesy of Dirk Kuyt’s two penalties.

Benitez is without midfielder Javier Mascheano after his dismissal at Old Trafford last week, Lucas Leiva could come in as a direct replacement or a change of formation could see Jermaine Pennant or Yossi Benayoun come in on the right wing.
