Champions League Round-up

Manchester United and Barcelona joined Liverpool and Chelsea in the Champions League semi-finals this evening.

Manchester United 1-0 Roma (3-0 on aggregate)
United overcame a poor Roma team at Old Trafford 1-0 thanks to a second half Carlos Tevez goal, but adding to their 2-0 victory in Italy a fortnight ago.

Barcelona 1-0 Schalke (2-0 on aggregate)
Yaya Toure got the only goal of the game as Barcelona extended their 1-0 lead over Schalke to win 2-0 on aggregate and set up a semi-final against Alex Ferguson’s men.

Liverpool vs Chelsea and Barcelona vs Manchester United first legs take place the week of the 23/24 April, with the return leg just a week later on the 29/30 April.

The winners of the two ties play each other in the European Cup final on May 21st, being held at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

Bookmakers currently are making Manchester United favourites at 9/5. Liverpool’s opponents Chelsea are joint second favourites with Barcelona at 7/2. Whilst the Reds are fourth favourites, at 4/1, to win their sixth European Cup this campaign.
