Next Up: PSV (h)

Liverpool host Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven at Anfield in the second group game of this season’s Champions League campaign.

While Liverpool enjoyed a Steven Gerrard inspired victory in Marseille in the opening fixture in Group D, PSV were hammered 3-0 by Atletico Madrid.

The last time these two sides met was in the 2006/07 campaign on the road to Athens as Liverpool enjoyed a 3-0 win away from home and 1-0 back at Anfield. That same season they also met in the group stages when Liverpool enjoyed a 2-0 home success.

PSV have former Liverpool defender Jan Kromkamp in their squad.

Rafa Benitez is able to recall midfielder Javier Mascherano after he was ruled out of the Merseyside derby at the weekend, along with Yossi Benayoun.

Benitez said “Both players trained this morning and are fit. We will have another training session in the morning but at the moment we have a fully fit squad.”

The match is live on Sky Sports, kick off 7:45pm.

Possible Starting XI: Reina, Arbeloa, Carragher, Skrtel, Dossena, Kuyt, Mascherano, Gerrard, Babel, Keane, Torres.
