Torres injury latest

Fernando Torres will undergo a scan later today to reveal more about the hamstring injury which saw him limp out of Liverpool’s goalless draw at Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

Torres twigged his hamstring stretching for a pass from Javier Mascherano and was substituted within the first half hour of the game.

After the game, manager Rafa Benitez said, “We don’t know how long Torres will be out for yet. We’ll have to wait for the results of the scan on Monday.

“It could be he is out for seven to ten days, but until he has the scan we won’t know.”

There is now an international break however, which Torres is likely to miss. The Reds next face Manchester United in the Premier League on September 13th (12.45pm KO).
