Door 10: Gary Mac, Gary Gary Mac

Still one of my all-time personal favourite Liverpool memories comes from the 2001 Treble winning season and midfield maestro Gary McAllister’s last minute 40-yard free-kick to sink Everton at Goodison Park, the final piece of an epic victory.

Deep into injury time the Scotsman surprised the whole ground by opting to curl in the long-range effort, instead of the anticipated cross.

The free-kick was inch perfect, bending the ball past Paul Gerrard and giving the Reds three points that would turn out to be vital in their Champions League qualification that season.
