Rafa admits, ‘œThings have changed’

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has admitted that Real Madrid have improved dramatically since the draw for the second round of the Champions League was made, as his side prepares to face the Spanish giants tomorrow night.

Real have enjoyed a surge of form since the appointment of former Spurs boss Juande Ramos. They are in very impressive form going into Wednesday night’s clash, having just beaten Real Betis 6-1 in La Liga, scoring all six goals in the first half.

And Benitez knows that the visit to the Bernabeu will be a tougher challenge than first thought. He told Liverpool’s official web site, “I knew it could be difficult when the draw took place because they were a good team – and now they have improved from two months ago.

“Juande Ramos is doing well. They are winning games in a row and so have more confidence.

“Defensively they have improved. Some players who were injured are back. Signing Lassana Diarra means they have two midfielders who can defend more, so they are more solid.”

Real Madrid vs Liverpool kicks off tomorrow night at 7.45pm.
