Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia says it’s ‘œfantastic’ to be back in Liverpool’s squad for Champions League games, after being left out earlier in the season.
The big Finn failed to make Rafa Benitez’s initial squad for the group games, but his performances domestically this season have earnt him a recall.
“It’s fantastic to be back in the Champions League squad,” he said.
“The official squad list was sent to UEFA last Sunday and as normal the manager was considering the list until the last minute.
“On Sunday he told me that I was in the squad. It’s fantastic and I believe Liverpool can do well in the Champions League.”
The Reds look forward to their Champions League 2nd Round tie against Real Madrid. The first leg is on 25 February in Spain, with the return leg at Anfield on 10 March.
