Cruyff believes Reds are team to avoid

Dutch footballing legend Johan Cruyff says Liverpool are the team all remaining Champions League quarter-finalists will be hoping to avoid when the draw is made this Friday.

The Reds are in the final eight of the competition along with Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Villarreal, Barcelona, FC Porto and Bayern Munich.

And after dispensing of Spanish giants Real Madrid in the second round, Cruyff believes Rafa Benitez’s men pose a massive threat to any of the remaining teams.

He says, “Against Madrid, Liverpool became a steamroller, and for sure, many of those who feared playing against Manchester United don’t want to face Liverpool now.

“Because of the manner in which they demolished Madrid and then thrashed United they are clearly the side everyone will want to avoid.

“Barcelona can defeat any team, but I’m sure they have noticed Liverpool now.

“They were two convincing and prestigious victories.”
