Keeper going nowhere ‘“ agent

Liverpool’s second choice goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri insists his player his happy at Anfield, despite a lack of first team opportunities.

Such is the impressive form of Pepe Reina that Brazilian Cavalieri hasn’t even had look-in since his £3million move to Merseyside from Palmeiras last summer. The 26 year old has only made one first team appearance.

But his agent, Juninho Parmigiaini, has rubbished speculation linking him with a move to Benfica at the end of the current campaign.

He told the Portuguese media, “I have held a meeting in Liverpool with the coach and Rafa Benitez is not thinking of letting Diego go,” he told the Portuguese press.

“Benitez told me that he is satisfied with the work of Cavalieri and also has plans for the player next season.

“Benfica asked me to find out about the chances of a possible loan and for this reason I have travelled to Liverpool.

“On a personal aspect Diego is happy at Liverpool.”
