Line-up vs St. Gallen: Voronin’s back!

Andriy Voronin will make his return to the Liverpool team tonight when he starts up front for the Reds’ in their first pre-season friendly, against St. Gallen in Switzerland.

It is Voronin’s first appearance for the club since pre-season of last year after going on a season long’s loan to Hertha Berlin. The Ukranian striker is determined to impress Benitez and continue his football on Merseyside.

Rafa Benitez starts with an experimental line-up which includes Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, as well as Jay Spearing and Nabil El Zahr, who recently signed new contracts with the club.

Liverpool: Cavalieri, San Jose, Degen, Insua, Carragher, Spearing, Gerrard, El Zhar, Babel, Voronin, Nemeth.

Earlier in the day Benitez hinted that he will field a completely different line-up in the second half tonight, which should see a debut handed to new £17.5million right-back Glen Johnson.

Kick-off in Switzerland is 7pm.
