Aurelio could face Burnley this weekend

Liverpool left-back Fabio Aurelio says he could return to action as early as this Saturday’s Premier League clash at home to Burnley.

The Brazilian was involved in a freak accident whilst on holiday in Brazil over the summer which forced him out of the start of the new season with a knee problem.

However Aurelio looks set to make his comeback very soon and says he is hoping to be fit in time to make the squad for this weekend’s game.

“I’m feeling good and I am working hard to try and get back into the squad for Saturday,” he told the club’s official web site.

“The international break came at a good time for me because I’ve been able to work hard and not miss too many more games. I’m going to play in a practice game on Thursday and I hope to prove my fitness and be involved against Burnley.

“I’ve been training for two or three weeks now and I can’t wait to get back.”

Argentinian Emiliano Insua has been filling in for Aurelio during his absence.
