Line-up vs Fiorentina: Aurelio returns and Benayoun starts

Fabio Aurelio makes his second start of the season tonight as Liverpool take on Fiorentina in the second match of the Champions League group stage.

Aurelio comes in for Albert Riera, who drops to the bench, which is likely to see him playing a holding midfield role alongside Lucas with Gerrard back alongside Torres up front.

Yossi Benayoun starts the game despite fears that a leg injury picked up at the weekend was going to force him out of action.

As previously reported, Javier Mascherano misses the game with a hamstring problem, whilst there are places on the bench for youngsters Jay Spearing and Damien Plessis.

Ryan Babel, who scored twice in the Reds’ 6-1 thrashing of Hull City on Saturday, also features on the bench.

Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Insua, Carragher, Skrtel, Lucas, Gerrard, Benayoun, Aurelio, Kuyt, Torres.

Subs: Cavalieri, Voronin, Riera, Kyrgiakos, Babel, Spearing, Plessis.
