Kuyt shrugs off Chelsea threat

Dirk Kuyt says he is not worried about Carlo Ancelotti’s Chelsea ahead of this Sunday’s Premier League meeting with the Blues at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea had a 100% record in the league this season until Wigan defeated them 3-1 last weekend. That was followed by an uninspiring 1-0 victory away to Cyprus Champions Apoel Nicosa.

And Kuyt is hoping Liverpool can beat Chelsea again, like they did in the league last season.

He said, “Chelsea had a one hundred per cent record until last weekend, but I’m not really worried about them.

“If we play to the level we’re capable of, we can win there again. We beat them home and away last season, so why not this year too?

“It’s always a difficult game at Stamford Bridge but I believe we showed something last season by winning there.

“By beating both Chelsea and Man United twice in the league we proved we can beat most teams home and away. Chelsea have a group of players who have been together for a long time and with fantastic strikers such as Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka.

“But we know them well after playing against each other many times.”

Chelsea vs Liverpool gets underway at 4pm this Sunday, 4th October and it’s live on Sky Sports.
