Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has been forced to withdraw from Denmark’s squad to play friendlies against South Korea and the USA due to a reoccurrence of his back injury.

Agger missed the start of the season for the Reds before returning last month to help his country qualify for World Cup 2010.

But the central defender felt his injury again during last night’s 2-2 draw with Birmingham City at Anfield.

After the game Reds boss Rafa Benitez told press, “Agger had a problem with his back. It’s not serious but he felt it a little bit.”
