Europa League Draw: Reds get Unirea

Liverpool have been drawn to face Unirea Urziceni of Romania in the last 32 of the Europa League.

Having not been seeded for the draw, it could have been a much tougher task for Rafa Benitez’s side. Unirea though, managed by former Chelsea player Dan Petrescu, beat Glasgow Rangers in the Champions League group stages.

They regulalry play at the Tineretului Stadium which has a capacity of just 7,000, but play European games at the Ghencea Stadium, home to Steaua Bucharest, which holds 25,000.

The first leg will be at Anfield on 18th February 2010, with the return leg in Romania a week later (25th February).

If The Reds succesfuly navigate past Unirea they will face the winner of Lille vs Fenerbache in the last 16, meaning a possible return to Istanbul.

Fellow English sides Fulham and Everton have been handed tougher ties, against holders Shaktar Donetsk and Sporting Lisbon respectively.
