Liverpool 2-0 Bolton

Liverpool moved to just one point behind fourth place Tottenham with a comfortable victory over Bolton at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

After an edgey opening to the game, Dirk Kuyt struck to give the Reds the lead shortly before half-time. The Dutchman finished when Alberto Aquilani headed an Emiliano Insua cross back accross goal.

Insua then played an instrumental part in doubling Liverpool’s lead when his shot deflected wickedly off the boot of Bolton’s Kevin Davies with 20 minutes of the match to go.

The result is an important one for Rafa Benitez’s men who continue their chase on the lucrative fourth Champions League spot, and thanks to Spurs’ 1-1 draw at Birmingham today edge more closer to overtaking Harry Redknapp’s men.
