Next Up: Reading (h) FA Cup Replay

Sports - December 08, 2007

With Sunday’s League match against Tottenham having been postponed, Liverpool host Reading in the FA Cup 3rd round replay next.

The two teams played out a 1-1 draw last Saturday evening, Simon Church opening for the Royals before Steven Gerrard equalised with a cross which ended up finding the net.

Javier Mascherano will now serve the final match of his four game ban in this fixture rather than the Spurs match. That means Rafa Benitez must choose between keeping Gerrard deeper alongside Lucas Leiva, or bringing Alberto Aquilani back into the side.

Liverpool are without defenders Glen Johnson and Martin Kelly, and midfielders Nabil El Zhar and Albert Riera.
