Next Up: Merseyside Derby (h)

FA Cup Replay: Everton Win In Extra Time

The 213th Merseyside Derby will surely be a firey contest, with both teams starting to come into a run of good results after a lacklustre and disappointing first half of the campaign.

A good omen for Liverpool from the history books is that the Blues haven’t won at Anfield in the league since 1999, and Liverpool haven’t lost to their neighbours in the last six league meetings.

In the reverse of this fixture at Goodison Park earlier this season, Rafa Benitez’s men ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Javier Mascherano and Dirk Kuyt.

Victory for Liverpool could take them up into 4th place in the Premier League table depending on other results, whilst Everton have recently snuck into the top half of the table and will be looking to go 8th.

The visitors enjoyed victory in their last Premier League outing, beating Wigan 1-0 at the DW Stadium thanks to a goal from Tim Cahill.

The Reds could welcome back Yossi Benayoun from injury, but remain without the likes of Fernando Torres, Daniel Agger, Martin Kelly and Nabil El Zahr, who make a hefty injury list for Benitez.
