Liverpool have been linked with a £12.5million move for Costa Rican international attacker Bryan Ruiz in this morning’s papers.
Both the Daily Mail and Daily Mirror report that Roy Hodgson is interested in signing the 24-year-old winger-come-striker who currently plays for FC Twente.
Ruiz has a fantastic recent scoring record, having scored 24 goals in 34 appearances for Twente. He scored one of the world’s fastest ever hat-tricks earlier this year when he put three past Sparta Rotterdam in the space of four minutes.
Elsewhere, the Reds have also been linked once again with a move for Newcastle Utd defender Steven Taylor, who is said to be unhappy with his club’s ambition. (Daily Express)
Taylor’s contract expires in a year and the training ground bust-up with Toon striker Andy Carroll last season has further distanced himself from the club.
There’s speculation surrounding Emiliano Insua’s future at Liverpool, with Wigan left-back Maynor Figueroa thought to be on Hodgson’s wishlist. The Daily Mail suggests Insua could be a target of Rafa Benitez’s at Inter Milan.
