Liverpool look set to be without left-back Paul Konchesky for at least this Thursday’s Europa League tie against Utrecht in Holland, and Sunday’s Premier League clash at home to Blackpool.

The new Reds signing pulled up with a hamstring strain during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Sunderland and will now face some time on the sidelines.

Hodgson told the club’s official web site, “He’s got a hamstring strain. I couldn’t tell you exactly how bad it is yet. I don’t think it’s extremely bad but I certainly think it would rule him out for Thursday and next Sunday.

“Hopefully it won’t be much more problematic.”
