International Reds round-up

As the ownership saga goes to London today with the Royal Bank of Scotland preparing for a high court case against Tom Hicks, Liverpool players are distracting themselves with the international break.

Two Reds were in action on Monday night. Lucas Leiva played for Brazil as they beat Ukraine in a friendly at Pride Park.

Dani Alves and Pato got the goals for the Brazilians, whilst Lucas had a solid game in the middle.

Danny Wilson meanwhile was part of the Scotland U21 side that lost 2-1 to to Iceland in the UEFA U21 Championships play-off game.

The result means Scotland lose 4-2 on aggregate and will not be part of the tournament, to be played in Denmark next year.

Tonight, England continue their qualification for Euro 2012 with the visit of Montenegro to Wembley Stadium. (8pm)

Steven Gerrard, Joe Cole and Glen Johnson are all in line to make appearances for Fabio Capello’s side.

Martin Skrtel looks set to start Slovakia’s qualifier at home to Republic of Ireland. (7.30pm)

Up north of the border, Pepe Reina will start on the bench behind Iker Casillas for Spain’s game away to Scotland. (8pm)

Dirk Kuyt is likely to play for Holland as they take on Sweden (7.30pm), with Milan Jovanovic facing Italy for Serbia this evening (7.50pm).

For the U21’s, Martin Kelly could play as part of Stuart Pearce’s England side this afternoon. They face Romania away in the second leg, and lead 2-1 in the tie (12.30pm).
