Soto & Cole ruled out of Wigan trip

Liverpol FC will face FC Rabotnicki in the qualification for Europa League in the Macedonian capitol Skopje on 29 July 2010.

Liverpool’s Sotirios Kyrgiakos and Joe Cole have been ruled out of their trip to Wigan on Wednesday evening.

The Greek defender, in impressive form in recent weeks, fell ill with tonsillitis on the morning of the Chelsea game.

Cole suffered a hamstring injury in the 1-0 win at Bolton, keeping him out of the Napoli and Chelsea games last week.

Kyrgiakos’ absence means Martin Skrtel and Jamie Carragher will continue at the centre of defence, with Daniel Agger sidelined long-term with a calf problem.

Meanwhile, full back Glen Johnson is available after a slight adductor strain kept him out of the Chelsea game. Manager Roy Hodgson must decide whether to recall the England international in place of youngster Martin Kelly.

Also available is left-back Fabio Aurelio, who is yet to make a league appearance sign re-signing for the club in the summer.

Liverpool are expected to be unchanged from the side that beat Chelsea 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday.
