Liverpool have three days to sign Suarez

Ajax have told Liverpool that they have just three days to finalise a deal to sign Uruguayan international striker Luis Suarez.

The Dutch side and the Reds have been locked in a battle over how much the player is worth, with Liverpool having had a £12.7million bid turned down last week.

Ajax boss Frank de Boer said in order for Ajax to line up Suarez’s replacement, Liverpool must have reached an agreement by this Saturday (29th January 2011).

“Liverpool know what they’ve to pay and we are sticking to our guns,” he said.

“We don’t want to lose him. We want to know by 29 January, after that nothing more will happen.”

Liverpool are also thought to be stepping up their bid for Blackpool’s Charlie Adam, after having a £4million bid turned down by Ian Holloway.
