Jamie Carragher’s gift to his city

There is not a player to have ever worn the red shirt who personifies the values and morals of Liverpool FC any more than Jamie Carragher.

Dedication, commitment, loyalty and passion are just a few of the values both Jamie Carragher and Liverpool FC share.

Philly Carragher, Jamie’s father, says that Jamie wanted to be a professional footballer ever since the young age of 3. Even in his early years, Jamie’s natural abilities and huge potential were obvious to see. Combining those natural qualities, with his aforementioned characteristics, Jamie was able to achieve his dream.

Jamie Carragher has since become one of Liverpool’s greatest ever defenders and the epitome of what Liverpool fans want to see in a Liverpool player. A local lad, born in Bootle, who lives and breathes the club, who knows just how much Liverpool FC means to the fans.

As quoted from his official website, “Jamie Carragher has decided, as a way of saying thank you to the people of Merseyside and all Liverpool Football Club Supporters, to set up the “23 Foundation” to “help give local kids a chance” and, as with everything in his life, Jamie is committed to making this lifetime project a success he says it is one of his proudest moments to date.”

As mentioned, the 23 Foundation aims to give local kids in Merseyside a chance to achieve their dreams through local charities, clubs and community initiatives by providing the means to make a difference.Whether that be in helping them recover from illness or giving them the opportunity to achieve their goals. Jamie Carragher and the 23 foundation aim to raise £2 Million pounds, which once achieved, will be invested and the capital will never be touched.

Here is a quote from Mike Lepic, a member of the 23 Foundation committee, on how you can help the 23 Foundation:

“In order to raise funds we offer authentic and officially signed Jamie Carragher memorabilia. Please visit our gallery at our official web-site www.jamiecarragher.org where you will find 23 digital pictures which can be framed and personalised with your own message (and signed by Jamie).
