Martin Skrtel has thanked the Liverpool fans for their recent support and says they’ve played a major role in the team’s revival.
Liverpool have moved from relegation candidates in January to now occupying fifth spot in the Premier League, with the prospect of qualifying for next season’s Europa League a real possibility.
Following Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Newcastle on Sunday afternoon, the defender praised the voices of the Kop faithful.
“It was such a great match in front of great fans and I would like to thank them again,” Skrtel said. “I am very happy with the result and it is much easier to perform when you are backed by such a great crowd.
“I believed in victory from the first minute. We are now very close to our goal which is Europe. We have three games to play and I am sure we can reach our goal with this support.”
