Jay Spearing has been rewarded for his good run of form in the Liverpool first team with a call-up to the England Under-21 squad for the forthcoming European Championships.
The squad had already been announced, but Bolton’s Mark Davies was forced to pull out through injury.
Although 22, Spearing qualifies to play for the England Under-21s, and will hope to impress after number of solid displays for the Reds this season.
The Under-21 European Championships get underway take place in Denmark between 11th and 25th June.
