Liverpool bidding on both Adam AND Henderson

Liverpool’s central midfield looks set for a shakeup with The Guardian reporting that the Reds’ £18million persuit of Sunderland‘s Jordan Henderson does not end their interest in Blackpool’s Charlie Adam.

Liverpool are thought to be on the verge of agreeing a deal in the region of £18m-£20m for Henderson – a deal that could include David N’gog going to the Stadium of Light.

Reds officials are keen to tie up the deal before Henderson leaves with England’s U21 squad for the European Championships tomorrow (Wednesday).

Adam was linked with a move to Anfield in January, but Blackpool refused to let their captain go, before being relegated on the final day of the season.

Liverpool are thought to be offering around £8million for the Scot, but face competition from both Tottenham and Manchester United.

The Reds have also been linked with Black Cats defensive midfielder Lee Cattermole and Ipswich striker Connor Wickham.

Meanwhile the Reds are expected to tie up a £1million deal for Roma goalkeeper Alexander Doni as back-up for Pepe Reina.
