Uruguay 1-1 Holland (Uruguay win 4-3 on pens)

Liverpool’s Luis Suarez and Dirk Kuyt both scored late goals in the Copa Confraternidad in Montevideo.

Suarez broke the deadlock for Uruguay just nine minutes from time when Edinson Cavani’s run saw him lay it off to Suarez to finish cooly.

But Kuyt’s header for Holland from a corner to the near post deep into injury time put the game into extra time.

Uruguay eventually ran out 4-3 winners on penalties.

After the game Suarez posted on his official Facebook page, “First match at home after so time!… I’m happy for the goal and the victory!”

Earlier in the day, Kuyt had tweeted, “Finally arrived in Motevideo… Looking forward to play against Luis :)”

Congratulations Uruguay and Luis.
