Carroll on target as Liverpool defeat West Brom

Liverpool saw of West Brom 2-0 courtesy of goals from Charlie Adam and Andy Carroll.

Kenny Dalglish‘s side, without Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher who missed the game through injury, scored both the goals in the first half and created plenty more opportunities to have won by a greater margin.

Adam opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the ninth minute after the ever creative Luis Suarez was tripped in the box. Adam tucked away the penalty low into the corner.

Carroll made it 2-0 in first half stoppage time, finishing from a great through ball from Suarez.

It could and should have been more but Liverpool failed to turn their dominance into more goals.

Stewart Downing, still looking for his first goal for his new club, hit the post late on. The tenth time Liverpool have struck the woodwork this season, more than any other club.

The Reds are up to fifth and unbeaten in seven games in all competitions. Next up are Swansea at Anfield next Saturday.
