FA Cup Fifth Round: Liverpool get Brighton at home

Liverpool have been drawn at home to Championship side Brighton in the FA Cup fifth round.

The two sides have already faced each other in cup competition this season, when Liverpool won 2-1 at the Amex Stadium in the League Cup third round courtesy of goals from Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt.

The match will take place on February 18th or 19th.

Gus Poyet’s side are currently 10th in the Championship, just four points adrift of the play-offs. They booked their place in the fifth round with a 1-0 victory over Newcastle United on Saturday evening.

The last time Liverpool faced Brighton in the FA Cup was 1991. After a 2-2 draw at Anfield, the Reds won the replay 3-2.

Liverpool reached the fifth round by overcoming Man United at Anfield on Saturday.
