Liverpool FC putting club first before loans

Kenny Dalglish says the club will assess all their options before allowing any more players to go on loan to lower league clubs before the end of the season.

The loan deadline for Football League clubs is today and Liverpool have been approached over the availability of several young fringe players, including Jonjo Shelvey, who is wanted by Blackpool.

“The fixtures come up thick and fast and we just have to play what is in front of us,” Dalglish said yesterday.

“The strength of the squad we have is going to be invaluable between now and the end of the season.

“We have to make sure we are right first before we consider letting anyone go on loan.

“We have a lot of games coming up and there are a lot of very good youngsters who would benefit from going out, but this club has to come first and if that is the case then the answer would be no.

“But if we can help their development then we will.”
