Deadline Day Round-up: Doni and Pacheco depart LFC

This year’s January transfer deadline day proved to be a quiet one for Liverpool FC, particularly if you compare it to the dramatic events of two years ago anyway!

The only business involving Liverpool saw two players who have only featured in three games this season between them leave the club.

Doni and Pacheco left Liverpool on deadline day.

Forward Dani Pacheco headed back to native Spain on a loan deal with second division Sociedad Deportiva Huesca.

Goalkeeper Alexander Doni – who hasn’t been on Merseyside since last season, let alone featuring under Brendan Rodgers – had his contract cancelled and promptly signed for Brazilian side Botafogo SP on a free transfer.

Liverpool had been seeking to re-sign winger Tom Ince from Blackpool but the Seasiders refused to budge on their valuation of the England Under 21 player and thus Liverpool will likely attempt again in the summer.

Here’s how we kept you entertained throughout the day with our deadline day blog.
