Liverpool may have been distracted from the transfer market by their 4-0 victory at Preston on Saturday, but there’s no shortage of Liverpool transfer news and rumours this Summer and the Rumour Mill never stops, as the LFC transfer rumours keep on coming.

In case you weren’t as sad as us and spent the weekend catching the sun, you may have missed two stories that caught our eye.
Ajax coach Frank de Boer dropped a hint that Christian Eriksen has the option to join Liverpool (whilst warning him against such a move) and the Reds were linked with a move for Bayern Munich’s young and highly-rated Swiss wigner Xherdan Shaqiri.
There’s certainly no shortage of Liverpool transfer news and rumours this Summer. Of course a Liverpool transfer rumours round-up article this summer wouldn’t be quite the same without some sort of gossip on Luis Suarez (sigh).
As expected, Arsenal have followed up their declined £30million bid for the Uruguayan last week with an improved £35million offer to test Liverpool’s resolve.
David Hytner of the Guardian is currently with the Arsenal camp on their pre-season tour in Indonesia and writes in Monday morning’s paper of Arsenal‘s pursuit and Manchester City‘s interest in 26-year-old Suarez.
Only something much closer to £40m may make Liverpool reconsider, even though they will fight to keep their star player. Wenger is keen to give them a decision to make and Manchester City have also expressed an interest.
Another player heading for the exit door at Anfield, although not to Blackburn Rovers as expected, is Jay Spearing.
Spearing played the first half of Liverpool’s win at Preston at the weekend, but at right-back. A clear sign he isn’t in Rodgers’ plans at Anfield.
The Mirrro report he has turned down Blackburn because he wants to rejoin Bolton, where he spent last season successfully on loan.
Meanwhile, further to the news we brought you earlier in the weekend regarding De Boer opening the door for Eriksen to join Liverpool, Sky Sports reporter Paul Gilmour tweeted to say the Reds have no interest in signing the Danish playmaker.
I'm told Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand is no longer a target for Liverpool. Christian Eriksen not on their radar either. #lfc #cfc

But in a good piece of news (seemingly) for Liverpool, they have agreed a deal to sign 17-year-old Valencia midfielder Pedro Chrivella.
A transfer fee is still to be agreed between the two clubs, with the Mirror reporting it could go to a tribunal as to whether Liverpool pay £2million or Valencia’s asking price of £3.5million for the youngster.
Valencia are demanding around £3.5million for the player with The Merseyside club offering around £2m less. If no deal can be reached, then a tribunal will set the final fee.
Last month, we brought you an in-depth look at Chirivella and what he could bring to he club.
And whilst we’re on a positive note, we noticed Chris Bascombe of the Telegraph get out on the right side of bed this morning, putting plenty of positive spin on his outlook of Liverpool’s summer in the transfer market:
Liverpool still have plenty of money to spend – as shown by the failed £20 million bid for Henrikh Mkhitaryan – and will also know a further £40?? million or more could be coming in if, as seems likely, Suárez and others depart before the start of the season.
Oh, and before we go, Steven Gerrard is set to sign a contract extension to take his stay at Liverpool up until at least 2015. Happy days.
