Liverpool fans have taken to social media site Twitter to discuss the latest buzz that is setting the Rumour Mill alight – the Reds’ £22million bid for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.
As we reported earlier this evening, Brendan Rodgers is hoping the big money move will see Costa add yet another attacking dimension to a very positive squad being built at Anfield.
Very exciting news indeed, and let’s hope that the Reds pull of this coup after the failed attempt of signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan last month.
So let’s hear what the journalists have to say first of all:
If anything #LFC hope the bid/move for Costa will persuade Suarez to stay by showing ambition. Hmm. Let's see …

Should stress Costa is not seen by #lfc as a replacement for S?t?a?r?b?u?c?k?s? Suarez.

@LFC4LIFE_786 Strong, aggressive, versatile, works hard & fairly dangerous.

5) Prone to the odd "antics" on the pitch, not to everybody's taste but personally I do like him very much. Strong mentality, a fighter

Costa seems like a mixed bag – very strong, bullish and high workrate, but carries with him some baggage. Take a look at this video being posted around social media by fans. A player not afraid to speak his mind.
Liverpool could have a very feisty attacking line-up presuming Luis Suarez stays too next season!
Here’s some of the fans’ reactions to the news of the bid tonight:
I'm happy if we try and sign anyone who has thrown a punch at Pepe, so Costa gets my approval.

@LFCTS Have you seen Costa's shot conversion stats? Looks like he knows where the goal is! pic.twitter.com/MXsogH1WSG

Costa played out wide last season and still scored 20 goals.

“@MrBoywunder: Our first team line up could be – http://t.co/QOcq2ucqYC” this team is a massive improvement.

And finally, the most important thing of all, how does he rate on FIFA?
