Iago Aspas back to Spain in January?

Valencia want to sign Liverpool forward Iago Aspas on loan this January, according to The Mirror.

Interestingly, the report is written by the same person who broke the story of Aspas’ move to Anfield in the summer.

Aspas made his seventh Premier League appearance in last night’s win over Norwich, coming off the bench in stoppage time and not getting a touch.

Brendan Rodgers choosing not to even bring Aspas on for 20 minutes when the game was already won at 4-0 was an odd decision – especially given that the Spaniard would have benefited from some playing time as he recovers from injury, and could have scored his first goal for the club.

Aspas, signed from Celta Vigo for £7m in the summer, impressed in pre-season but struggled early on before picking up a thigh injury in October.

The Metro claim Real Betis are also interested in the 26 year-old.
