Liverpool reject fresh approach for Iago Aspas

Liverpool have rejected a new move from Valencia to take Iago Aspas on loan for the rest of the season, according to a report in Spain.

Superdeporte say Brendan Rodgers outright refused to allow Aspas to leave the club, just six months after the Spaniard signed from Celta Vigo.

Aspas’ career on Merseyside has had a rocky start, scoring once in just 11 appearances for the Reds. He also suffered a torn thigh muscle during training in October and sat out of action for two months.

The January transfer window closes at midnight on Friday, 31st January 2014.
