The BBC’s Ben Smith writes on Saturday:

The Reds want to complete the deal swiftly or they will consider moving on to alternative transfer targets.

Lallana has been on the Reds’ radar for a while and the club are hoping to get a deal tied up for the 26-year-old before he flies out for World Cup preparations with England on Sunday.

Lallana played 73 minutes of England’s 3-0 victory over Peru at Wembley Stadium on Friday night.

Speculation surrounding Lallana’s proposed move to Liverpool increased this week with the imminent signing of his Southampton teammate Rickie Lambert.

Lambert is undergoing a medical on Saturday ahead of his reported £4 million switch to Anfield.

Elsewhere, the Mirror report that Liverpoool hope to sign Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno within the next week, suggesting the deal will total around £20 million.
