The 21-year-old Portuguese playmaker will join up with Liverpool legend Sami Hyypia, who took charge of the south coast club this summer.

Teixeira made his senior debut as a substitute in the dramatic win at Fulham back in Fulham. He was a regular for the under-21s last season, often playing in a similar role to Philippe Coutinho does the first-team, from the left of the attack.

Teixeira is the sixth player to be loaned out this summer, following Luis Alberto (Malaga), Iago Aspas (Sevilla), Andre Wisdom (West Brom), Divock Origi (Lille) and Brad Smith (Swindon).

Meanwhile, former Liverpool youngster Michael Ngoo, who was released this summer, has signed for Scottish side Kilmarnock.
