Ibe, who impressed during pre-season and spent the end of last season at Birmingham City, is linked in The Mirror with a move to Bolton. They don’t state how long the loan will be though, but do claim it could be completed as early as Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Joao Carlos Teixeira made his full debut in English football on Tuesday night, starting for Brighton at Leeds after being used as sub for Sami Hyypia’s side on Saturday.

It took the Portuguese midfielder just five minutes to score his first goal for the Seagulls, an excellent finish from a tight angle. He also claimed the man of the match award from WhoScored.

Brighton won the match 2-0 and Hyypia praised Teixiera post-match:

“Of course I am grateful to Liverpool for letting Joao come to us and get the games he needs, but it works both ways.

“They can benefit too because his time with us can hopefully be a stepping stone towards Liverpool’s first team.

“He is a young player and Liverpool have a very big squad. A player of his age needs to play games to improve. We have a quality player and I am very happy to have him with us.”

Elsewhere on Tuesday, Brad Smith played the full 90 minutes for Swindon Town in their 2-2 draw at Gillingham.
