The club broke the news on Friday morning, with a medical now the only thing separating Bogdan from becoming a Liverpool player.

The 27-year-old joins from Bolton Wanderers, who he performed so admirably for against Brendan Rodgers’ side in last season’s FA Cup fourth round clash at Anfield.

Bodgan is Liverpool’s third free signing of the summer so far, joining James Milner and Danny Ings in the Reds squad ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.

Here is the best of the reaction on social media:

‘Bambii’ on the forum:

Bogdan is a very good keeper, and an excellent 2nd choice. We should be happy having a positive signing.

‘jimmydestiny’ on the forum:

Another squad member in. Good to see that we will have enough squad members for the European games and cups. How about a few players who will go and win us some games now.

‘Dave-D’ on the forum:

If this is the best that the club can do it is very worrying. A goalkeeper from Bolton who wasn’t even first choice there.
