Kolo Toure amused journalists at a press conference on Sunday when he revealed why he held back from holding a koala during Liverpool’s pre-season tour in Australia.
Toure joined Brendan Rodgers to preview the Reds’ friendly against Adelaide United on Monday, and was quizzed as to why he ducked out of the opportunity to be photographed holding a koala earlier this week.
“You know I’m not really a big fan of animals!”, the 34-year-old told reporters. “It’s not just koalas of course. I have a dog which has lived in my house for seven years, but I’ve never even touched it!
“Since I was young I’ve never been big on animals, but I can see them from afar, it’s fine!”
Liverpool face Adelaide United at 10:30am (UK) on Monday and go into the game off the back of victories of True Thai All Stars and Brisbane Roar in the last week.
