Divock Origi found a 72nd minute breakthrough in the scoreline to put Liverpool 1-0 up in their pre-season friendly against HJK Helsinki on Saturday.
Jordon Ibe’s low cross from the right was flicked on by James Milner, with Origi smashing the ball home from close range.
The goal came after a period of mounting pressure from Liverpool who finally wore down a resilient Helsinki defence.
Origi had only been on the pitch for 10 minutes, replacing Danny Ings as a second-half substitute.
After a slow first half, Liverpool pressed well in the second and Brendan Rodgers will be happy with a comfortable fitness exercise.
The Reds now go to Swindon Town on Sunday afternoon (4pm kick-off) for their final pre-season friendly of the summer before the Premier League gets underway next weekend.
