Liverpool fans are getting a recurring feeling of Déjà vu after it was revealed Daniel Sturridge has sustained a fresh injury blow.
The England international was missing from Liverpool’s matchday squad to face Bordeaux in the Europa League on Thursday night, with Jurgen Klopp later confirming to BT Sport that Sturridge has picked up a new foot injury.
The news will come as yet another big blow for the striker, who declared himself “fit and ready to go” only last week.
Klopp gave further hope on Wednesday, telling reporters that Sturridge was getting “closer” to returning.

Sturridge has now become the very definition of a luxury squad player for us. Frustrating for everyone, club, fans, & him more than any.

Think about the mental anguish Sturridge must have gone through & continues to experience. Try to separate the human from the millionaire.

We may sell Sturridge, or even release him when his contract is up. But knowing our luck, he'll go and flourish elsewhere, injury free
