Photos: Inside Anfield’s new Main Stand

Liverpool fans get their first chance to view the new Main Stand when the first test event takes place at Anfield on Friday, but we have photos from inside the new stand as it nears completion.

The first test event – a requirement for the club to attain a safety certificate – takes place on Friday evening, followed by a second test event the following Monday afternoon.

The Reds will then host Leicester City at Anfield on September 10th in the first game since phase one of Anfield’s expansion is completed, taking the capacity to 54,000.

The redevelopment of the Main Stand will boost Liverpool’s match day revenues by an estimated £20 million a year.

Anfield’s new official capacity will be 54,167, meaning the game against Leicester will be the highest attendance Liverpool’s home stadium has seen since May 1977.
