“We have the thinnest squad of the top 6” – Liverpool fans urge Klopp to sign players this month

Following Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat at Southampton and a general lack of edge in recent weeks, supporters have been left frustrated by a lack of transfer business in January.

The Reds were defeated in the first-leg of their semi-final showdown with Saints, with Jurgen Klopp‘s side playing poorly throughout.

It was a contender for their worst performance of the season to date, with the absence of key players and tired legs both evident.

Liverpool are now looking worryingly weary, and are a shadow of the team that was ripping opponents to shreds back in the autumn.

With Sadio Mane on Africa Cup of Nations duty and other influential players in need of a rest, fans are desperate to see Klopp sign at least one player during this month’s transfer window to add some fresh legs to a squad that already looks tired.

Here’s a look at some of the reaction, as concern starts to grow.

Reinforcements needed ASAP, we can’t wait until everyone is fit and Mane comes back. The players look worn out. Firmino, Can, Milner, Klavan, Sturridge and Wijnaldum all seem to need rest, none of them turned up at all last night. I can see us slipping out of the top four this month if nothing is done

If we don’t recruit at least one attacking player and arguably a midfielder we may struggle to maintain our league position. We are 1 main player injury away (as we saw with Coutinho) from quickly losing our mojo again.
