Inaki Williams speaks about his future amid Liverpool interest

Long-term Liverpool target Inaki Williams has been talking about his future this week, with a summer move looking increasingly likely.

The 22-year-old Spanish striker has been linked with a move to Merseyside several times in recent years, most recently last January when the Reds were said to be “monitoring” the pacy attacker.

The versatile Athletic Bilbao forward is reported to be a potential target for Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund this summer, according to the Independent.

Williams’ future at Bilbao is in doubt, with the Spanish side looking likely to miss out on Champions League qualification.

“Lots of things are coming out in the news but I am calm,” says the player.

“If [clubs] are looking at me it’s because I’m doing things well. I’m very lucky.

“If tomorrow I had to leave I would always be very honest with Athletic. They’ve given me everything.

“Staying put is my first option right now though.”

Capable of playing through the middle or on either side of a front three, Williams would certainly fit in at Liverpool.

With plenty of debate over Daniel Sturridge‘s future at Anfield this summer, Jurgen Klopp could well be needing at least one new forward ahead of the 2017/18 season.

At 6’1″ and extremely fast, Williams has the physical attributes to prosper in the Premier League.

It’s reported that his release clause is €50 million, which would mean Liverpool breaking their transfer record to sign the promising forward.
