Facing perhaps their biggest challenge yet, watch as Georginio Wijnaldum and Philippe Coutinho took on 30 players from Liverpool’s U9s squad.
The Reds stars showed their lighthearted side as they faced off against almost three full sides’ worth of youngsters in a brilliant little video from the club.
Joined by young goalkeeper Dan Moore, Wijnaldum and Coutinho played out a 3-3 draw, as they struggled to hold back the tide and break through at the other end.
It was a lovely touch by the Liverpool duo, with the U9s clearly in awe of two of Jurgen Klopp‘s most important players.
Wijnaldum found himself constantly surrounded by dozens of bodies, trying to nick the ball off him, while Coutinho was on the receiving end of plenty of verbals from the opposition goalkeeper.
With so much at stake on the pitch for the first team, it is nice to see Wijnaldum and Coutinho in positive spirits, with the looks on the youngsters’ faces worth it alone.
The U9s even showed them a thing or two about scoring from set-pieces!
