Jurgen Klopp has made five changes to the Liverpool side that drew 3-3 with Sevilla in midweek, as they prepare to take on Chelsea at Anfield.
The Reds return to Premier League action with a showcase clash against the defending champions, looking to extend their winning run in the English top flight to four games.
Klopp has overseen back-to-back victories over Huddersfield Town, West Ham and Southampton, and with a win over Maribor and their stalemate in Spain, they are unbeaten in their last five.
Amid a winter schedule that sees them play 13 games over just 45 days, Klopp is required to rotate his selection between games.
And Saturday is no different, with the German making five changes in search of three points against the Blues.
Simon Mignolet returns between the sticks as Liverpool’s league goalkeeper, despite Loris Karius‘ improved showing at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Ragnar Klavan and Alberto Moreno form Klopp’s back line, with Matip returning from injury to replace Dejan Lovren.
And in midfield, Jordan Henderson is flanked by James Milner and Philippe Coutinho, hopefully providing the Reds with more balance than in Andalusia.
Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Daniel Sturridge form Klopp’s attacking unit, looking to continue the Reds’ fine run of form in front of goal.
Dejan Lovren, Emre Can both miss out, with Karius, Georginio Wijnaldum, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all dropping to the bench.
Adam Lallana makes his first appearance in the matchday squad since the end of last season.
Liverpool have not lost in their last five meetings with Chelsea, and victory on Saturday will see them go level on points with Antonio Conte’s side.
